Jikomalamo menurut informasi diambil dari nama perkampungan di Pulau Hiri (pulau yang berada tepat di depan teluk ini). Lokasi teluk jikomalamo tidak terlalu jauh dengan teluk Sulamadaha dan masih berada di Pulau Ternate namun karena masih belum ada akses darat menuju teluk Jikomalamo, maka jika hendak bepergian ke teluk ini hanya bisa menggunakan speedboat dengan biaya sewa kurang lebih Rp. 250 ribu untuk antar dan jemput.
